I can’t say that I know a lot about foreign features, but since I’m Turkish I know a couple of Turkish movies which are quite recent (unfortunately not as recent as A Separation): “Bliss” (2007) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0978649/ and “My Father and My Son” (2005) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0476735/. I wouldn’t say these are as good as “A Separation”, but I thought they were quite interesting and reflective of different cultures. “Bliss” should also be on Netflix. Hope you like them!
